STRATEGIC PLAN

In preparation for the upcoming election, I am studying Jeb Bush's book "Immigration Wars: Forging an American solution."

DAY ELEVEN   I'm encouraged by the book so far. Not only is Jeb describing the problem in terms that I can understand, but he is proposing actual remedies. Unusual for a politician, don't you think?

For instance, in dealing with current illegals Jeb writes: "no comprehensive immigration plan can't ignore the many millions of people living illegally in the United States. This is the issue on which the core values intersect most sharply.

We need to treat those who have settled in our country illegally with compassion and sensitivity, yet without sacrificing the rule of law that is vital to our national fabric." I don't think that's merely a talking point that Jeb Bush will use to get elected president, if he chooses to run. He has a strategic plan to implement these ideas.

He definitely has my attention on the subject of immigration
