WHAT SAY YE?

The call of Jesus “follow me” is real.  It is tangible.  It is concrete.  It is a command.  It is not an invitation to debate.  It is not, “hey, let’s sit down and discuss this thing and see if this is something that will fit into your lifestyle and schedule.”

This is a command that demands of us an answer. “Maybe” is not an acceptable response. Neither is give me some time to consider it. It requires an immediate answer . . . a simple yes or no. No negotiations . . . either total, instantaneous obedience or disobedience. Those are our options . . . just two. No gray, just black or white . . . YES or NO.

How do we know this?

Check out Mark 2:14 . . . one verse that says it all.

“As Jesus walked along, he saw a tax collector Levi, son of Alpheus, sitting in his office. Jesus said to him, ‘follow me’. Levi got up and followed him.”

Levi’s response is what Jesus the Master expects. Immediate, total, expected. The invitation’s universal. The grace required to answer YES is available.
A simple yet total obedience is expected.

So, WHAT SAY YE?
