OTHERS MAY, BUT YOU CANNOT

KEN & JONI EARECKSON TADA AND FRANCIS CHAN

In the small group study yesterday, Jeff Callender shared some helpful ways to depend on the Holy Spirit. From his book, Francis Chan suggests that we need to be intentional about listening for the voice of the Holy Spirit in our daily activities:
"Do you listen to the Holy Spirit as you stand in line at the post office? Perhaps He is asking you to begin a conversation with the lady in front of you. Do you allow the Holy Spirit to lead when you are making your budget? Perhaps He will direct you to allocate the monies differently than you otherwise would."
Joni Eareckson Tada's life was changed when the Holy Spirit spoke to her through a cross stitch picture hanging in a hallway. Check this out....
"I remember it was only a cross-stitched proverb I once saw hanging in someone’s hallway, but as I sat in my wheelchair looking up at the words in the frame, I knew it was a direct and personal word of the Holy Spirit to me. And the cross-stitched proverb stated simply this: “Others may, but you cannot.”   Click HERE to listen or read Joni's personal story.
