When I was a kid growing up in Southern Maryland, we attended a little Nazarene Church. Every Sunday night, we had a hymn-sing. And this hymn always disturbed me.....
Ready to suffer grief or pain
Ready to stand the test.
Ready to go, ready to stay.
Ready for service, lowly or great
Ready to do His Will.
Some of you may remember that hymn. I vividly remember thinking to myself: No. I’m not ready for most of this stuff. I’m a kid.
