PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS TO YOUR EVERYDAY PROBLEMS

Today I'm happy to share two practical solutions to save you time and trouble, and help you (and your trees) stay healthy.

These weekly tips are from a book that I purchased recently at our local thrift store.

SOLUTION #1. KEEP PESTS OUT OF YOUR TRASH

"To keep raccoons and other critters out of your garbage, regularly spray the side of your cans with a mixture of one part ammonia and one part water." Presto, no more critters!

SOLUTION #2. TOUGH LOVE FOR TREES

"Treating your fruit trees like they're bad will yield a good crop. Frequent taps on the trunk with a baseball bat, a series of regular kicks, or smacks to the tree with rolled up newspapers work well to get the sap moving more efficiently through the branches, which in turn, will help the tree produce more fruit." (Be prepared for strange looks from passers-by). This solution is kind of like a massage to increase blood flow, or one of my brutally tough sermons to get peeps to produce more fruit.

Anyway, look for more practical solutions to everyday problems on this blog next week!
